Abstract

The strong partnership between Azerbaijan and Israel is based on mutual respect, shared values, and a long-standing tradition of tolerance. For centuries, Jews have lived peacefully in Azerbaijan, free from antisemitism and able to preserve their identity. Since regaining independence in 1991, Azerbaijan has developed close ties with Israel as part of its Western-oriented foreign policy. This relationship has grown across multiple sectors, including energy, defense, agriculture, and technology. High-level visits by Azerbaijani Presidents Heydar Aliyev and Ilham Aliyev, along with Israeli Prime Ministers, have deepened diplomatic cooperation and mutual trust. Security collaboration, particularly in the fight against international terrorism, remains a central pillar of their partnership. The two countries continue to strengthen their strategic alliance through shared interests and consistent political dialogue, making their bilateral relations a notable example of successful inter-state cooperation in a complex geopolitical landscape.
